CHEMICAL PEELS

At Elysian Aesthetics, our chemical peels are professional-grade exfoliating acids that can help improve the appearance of the skin by addressing various concerns, such as wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scars and uneven skin tone. This non-invasive treatment involves the application of a chemical solution to the skin, which causes the outermost layers of the skin to peel off, revealing smoother, healthier and rejuvenated skin underneath.

There are different types of chemical peels available, ranging from superficial to deep peels, each targeting specific skin concerns and providing varying levels of exfoliation.

One of the key benefits of chemical peels is their ability to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture. The exfoliation process triggered by the chemical solution removes dead skin cells, unclogs pores and promotes the growth of new, healthy skin cells. This can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars, while also improving skin firmness and elasticity.

Chemical peels can also help even out skin tone and reduce hyperpigmentation. The exfoliation process can lighten dark spots, sun damage and melasma, resulting in a more uniform and radiant complexion. By removing the top layer of the skin, chemical peels can reveal brighter, smoother skin that looks more youthful and rejuvenated.

About the treaTment

What does the procedure involve?

Overall, chemical peels are a versatile treatment option for individuals looking to improve the appearance of their skin and address various skin concerns. By exfoliating the skin, stimulating collagen production and enhancing skin texture and tone, chemical peels offer a non-invasive solution for achieving smoother, brighter and more rejuvenated skin. If you are considering a chemical peel, be sure to consult with a skincare professional to determine the best treatment plan for your skin type and concerns.

How many sessions will I need?

The recommended number of peels required can vary depending on the specific skin concerns being addressed and the individual's response. Generally, a series of 3-4 peels is recommended, spaced 2-4 weeks apart. A treatment regime will be discussed during the initial consultation, as individual plans will vary.

Is there any downtime?

Downtime is typically minimal, with most patients experiencing mild redness that subsides within a few days. Patients can usually resume their normal activities shortly after the procedure, although it is important to follow post-care instructions provided by the skin care professional to ensure optimal results. Some flaking and peeling of this skin is expected post-procedure and slight redness may occur in the days following.

What aftercare is involved?

After undergoing a chemical peel, proper aftercare is essential to promote healing, enhance results and minimise potential side effects.
